Office of Graduate Medical Education

The Office of Graduate Medical Education provides a number of services for those residency and fellowship programs accredited by ACGME:

  • Personnel office for residents and fellows
  • Central location for information, services and support related to resident and fellow employment
  • Help with loan deferments and loan forbearance
  • Support to the clinical chairs, training program directors, training program coordinators and chief residents on a variety of issues, projects and activities
  • Lab coat distribution
  • Help using the New Innovations program
  • Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine liaison – offering help with training and unrestricted PA licensing
  • Verification of residency or fellowship training

Ombudsperson Expand answer

In situations when a resident concern relates to the Department Chair or Program Director and the residents believes that it cannot be presented to the Department Chair or Program Director, the resident may present the grievance directly to the ombudsperson for guidance.
