Penn State Health
Penn State Health is an integrated academic health system serving patients and communities across 25 counties in central Pennsylvania. It employs more than 20,900 people systemwide.
The system includes Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Health Children’s Hospital and Penn State Cancer Institute based in Hershey, Pa.; Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center in Enola, Pa.; Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, Pa.; Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, Pa.; Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pa.; Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, a specialty provider of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, in Harrisburg, Pa.; and 2,417 physicians and direct care providers at 225 outpatient practices. Additionally, the system jointly operates various healthcare providers, including Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center and Hershey Endoscopy Center.
In 2017, Penn State Health partnered with Highmark Health to facilitate creation of a value-based, community care network in the region.
Penn State Health shares an integrated strategic plan and operations with Penn State College of Medicine, the University’s medical school. With campuses in State College and Hershey, Pa., the College of Medicine boasts a portfolio of more than $150 million in funded research and more than 1,700 students and trainees in medicine, nursing, other health professions and biomedical research.

Parking is free on our campus and at our associated medical group clinics!
Yes. Our Graduate Medical Education office provides a meal allowance per quarter for all GME trainees based on work hours to be used at any hospital food entity, including Starbucks! Additionally, there is a refrigerator stocked with small items and drinks available for free in the cafeteria for use when food services is closed.
Yes, at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, we have a Starbucks in the Main Lobby. They are open every day – even on the weekends!
Yes, we do provide Educational Support Funds annually. The amount varies per program. Additional details can be found in our Educational Support Funds Policy on the policy page.
Yes, we do. Penn State offers a 75% tuition discount to all Milton S. Hershey Medical Center employees, and Hershey Medical Center offers a 100% tuition reimbursement. GME trainees are eligible for the 75% discount towards numerous degrees, including an MBA. Additionally, the Woodward Center for Excellence in Health Sciences Education supports scholarships for GME trainees towards the Masters or Certificate Programs in Adult Education.
Yes, wellness matters at Penn State Health! The University Fitness Center (UFC) is an exclusive health and wellness facility on campus, within walking distance, which serves our Penn State Health affiliates. Membership is discounted to less than $25/month for GME trainees and includes access to the cardiovascular and strength training rooms, the gymnasium, free group fitness classes, racquetball and squash court usage, and the facility locker rooms.

They offer an outlet for networking, coordinate social activities, and facilitate friendships. They also support the greater community through acts of service.
