Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine plays an integral role in the medical care provided at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Patients may not always see their pathologist, but many conditions could not be accurately diagnosed without the work they do.
The department offers high-quality diagnostic services for patients and convenient, local laboratory services for referring physicians. Everything is done to help ensure continuity of care to patients.
- More than 40 primary faculty pathologists
- Three divisions: anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and experimental pathology
- Medical laboratory performs more than 2.8 million tests each year
